The 40th Annual TRETA Conference held in San Antonio, Texas had members in attendance representing Texas, Oklahoma, and more!
Karen Nichols was President for 2015-2016. The 40th annual conference was held in San Antonio at the Marriott Plaza. The theme of the conference was “Unmasking the Highly Effective Teacher.” Henry Cisneros was the keynote speaker.
The conference was packed with several presenters from Texas A&M, Texas Veterans Land Board, Commissioner of the Texas Department of Saving and Mortgage Lending, and TREC’s Director of Education and Licensing Services, Gwen Jackson. All real estate licensees attending received 10 hours of CE credit.
The Thursday CREI Renewal workshop on Thursday was an excellent session where members learned about new methods for presenting in the classroom. That evening, many members joined us at the President’s Reception.
The new slate of officers were sworn in at the luncheon and several awards were presented to members that have provided a years of dedicated service to our organization. Karen Nichols presented the President’s Awards to Membership Director Michael Phillips and to Jerry Rutledge for their outstanding service to TRETA. The Jerry Rutledge Global Visionary Award was presented to Dr. Johnnie Rosenauer; and Dennis Walker was awarded the Don Roose Award of Excellence.
On Saturday, we had a great CREI breakfast followed by the final presentations to close our conference.Next year’s conference will be in Austin, Texas!
