39th Annual Conference ~ April 16, 17 & 18
The 39th Annual TRETA Conference was held at the
beautiful Corpus Christi, Texas at the Omni Hotel Resort!
We had members in attendance representing Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and more!
Here’s what one member had to say:
“My first trip to a TRETA Conference was going to be okay…until I arrived! Then, I was star-struck to say the least!
There in the flesh were the authors, the educators, the movers, and the shakers of real estate education. The actual authors who write the books, the publishing companies, the TREC insiders, TAR top bananas and the Mayor of the city, all talking TO ME! Oh yes, and the Governor sent a “Greeting” to wish us a productive and engaging conference. Geez, could it get any better? I felt very important and honored to be receiving the instruction, thoughts, and wisdom of these wonderful leaders.
The lineup of speakers was phenomenal; from how to read a student to legal ramifications facing our legislators on behalf of real estate, lending, and instruction. It is well worth your time to go; to learn, to make friends, and hopefully become a better, more informed instructor. See you there!”

The Thursday CREI Renewal workshop was an upbeat session where members learned new skills for presenting in the classroom to make teaching more effective. That evening, many members joined us at the President’s Reception where we dined on delicious food and enjoyed good company with old friends and new ones!
The Friday speaker line-up was fun and fact-filled. Mayor Nelda Martinez welcomed us to the city, then we learned about business planning, our annual “Legal Update” and a presentation from Texas Savings & Mortgage Lending Dept. During our luncheon, our new slate of officers were sworn in at the luncheon and several awards were presented to members that have provided a years of dedicated service to our organization. After lunch we had our annual “Mortgage Market Update” and heard updates from our friends at TREC.
On Saturday, we had a scrumptious CREI breakfast with renewals and honoring of some longtime CREI members. After breakfast, we resumed the conference with the final presentations of the Instructor Development and closed with the annual Real Estate Center’s the status of the economy.
